In a time when division threatens to pull communities apart, the Unity Legacy Center stands as a sacred response — a living declaration that unity must be built, not assumed. The vision extends beyond programs; it’s about how sacred space can restore connection, ignite creativity, and empower learning. Within St. Paul’s historic walls, we imagine classrooms that nurture education and leadership development; fellowship halls transformed into galleries and stages where artists, musicians, and storytellers bring faith and culture to life; and sacred rooms that double as sanctuaries for mentoring, tutoring, and reflection. Here, the arts and education walk hand in hand — each one a vessel for healing and hope. Every corner of this space is designed to bridge divides and welcome collaboration — where faith leaders, educators, students, and neighbors come together to exchange ideas, celebrate heritage, and build solutions that uplift the whole community. Because in a world splintered by difference, unity is not a luxury — it is our calling.
Kevin Hamilton — Founder, Unity Legacy Center
Educator • Visionary • Faith Builder
Kevin Hamilton is a Dallas-based educator, historian, and community advocate whose calling bridges faith, education, and culture. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Kevin was raised in a city where faith, family, and fellowship flow together as naturally as music on Sunday mornings. That upbringing shaped his belief that true community thrives when people come together — to worship, to create, to share stories, and to lift one another up.
Rooted in his service at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Kevin has long believed that sacred spaces can do more than host worship — they can change lives when opened to creativity, dialogue, and learning.
His journey to founding the Unity Legacy Center grew from years of hands-on ministry and community work within St. Paul — from leading the Body & Soul homeless outreach program to hosting historical tours that brought hundreds of visitors into the church’s story. He also helped establish a partnership with Thou Art, a faith-inspired art initiative that turned the church’s fellowship hall into a space for community exhibits and creative expression. That collaboration became a living example of the model Kevin hopes to expand through future Unity Legacy Center programming — one where faith, art, and community come together to heal, inspire, and connect.
With a background in teaching and a heart for community restoration, Kevin began shaping a vision that would honor St. Paul’s history while preparing it for the future. That vision evolved into the Unity Legacy Center — a living bridge between the sacred and the civic, between history and hope.
Today, Kevin continues to lead this work with the same conviction that started it: that unity is not just an ideal, but a daily practice rooted in faith, creativity, and shared responsibility. His leadership embodies the belief that when faith opens its doors, legacy doesn’t fade — it multiplies.
Mr. Kevin Hamilton
The groundwork for this vision was laid through the leadership and dedication of Kevin Hamilton, a long-serving lay member of St. Paul, whose work in community engagement and historical preservation helped shape the concept that would become the Unity Legacy Center. With a deep understanding of the church’s legacy and its potential to serve future generations, Hamilton began crafting a framework that merged faith, education, and culture into one cohesive mission.
This vision was formally presented to church leadership and received approval from the Governance Board in December 2024 under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Lucretia Facen, whose support helped frame the Unity Legacy Center Non Profit as a natural extension of St. Paul’s mission. The board’s decision to move forward reflected not a new direction, but a renewed commitment — to transform faith into action and make the church’s legacy tangible in the life of the city.
When Rev. Kantrice S. Robinson was appointed as St. Paul’s new senior pastor in 2025, she quickly recognized the significance of this work and, in September 2025, affirmed her full support. With her blessing, the Unity Legacy Center entered its next chapter — one that aligns the church’s sacred mission with modern needs for creativity, justice, and connection.
Today, the initiative continues under Hamilton’s leadership in collaboration with church clergy, community partners, and dedicated volunteers. Through intentional planning, faith-based vision, and an unwavering belief in the power of unity, the Unity Legacy Center stands as a living testament to what can happen when sacred vision meets community purpose.
What began as a seed of faith is now becoming a movement — one that bridges past and future, honors heritage while inspiring innovation, and transforms sacred space into a gathering place for all. The Unity Legacy Center is proof that when faith opens its doors, legacy doesn’t fade — it grows.
